FAQs
What does LXD mean?
LXD stands for "learning experience design." I don't just provide information for people to read or watch. I create a dynamic experience that empowers your employees or students to practice their skills in a fail-safe environment. Many people think that e-learning is just videos or slides with voiceover because that's what they've seen in the past. Fortunately, e-learning can be so much more!
What platform do you use?
I use something called an authoring tool to build the courses. The authoring tool prodcues a file package that can be uploaded to any Learning Management System (LMS) that you choose. Building a course using an authoring tool allows for more interactivity and customization compared to building directly on a platform.
Most large organizations already have an LMS in place. If you are a small business, coach, or consultant that is just getting started with e-learning, I can recommend an LMS or alternative way to host your course, depending on your needs.
What type of clients do you work with?
I work with corporations, non-profit organizations, and consultants from a variety of industries. Some of my clients want to sell courses. Other clients want to enhance their organization's learning and development programs with soft-skills training, technical skills training, compliance training, onboarding programs, or software tutorials. A few examples of industries I have worked with include financial services, information technology, and management consulting. One of my favorite things about this work is that I learn something new with each project!
When you work with me, I serve as your Learning Expert. I will need access to a Subject Matter Expert (SME) from your organization. Together, we can make e-learning magic happen!
How much does it cost?
I create custom solutions for my clients, so the cost will depend on your needs. Here are a few things I consider:
What existing material, if any, do you already have?
How long will the training be?
Am I converting existing training to e-learning or starting from scratch?
Do you need custom graphics, voiceover, and/or video?
What level of interactivity is needed?
What authoring tool(s) will be used?
Do you need assistance setting up an LMS or hosting your course on the web?
You may not know the answers to all of these questions right now, and that's okay. I'll meet with you and listen to your goals in order to come up with a custom proposal.
