Problem and Solution
Canva is a popular graphic design platform used by marketers around the world. Unfortunately, many well-meaning people use Canva to create marketing materials that are not accessible. This means that people with certain disabilities may not be able to access the content. Not only do marketers have an ethical responsibility to create inclusive content, but it's good for business as well. According to the World Health Organization, about 1.3 billion people (16% of the global population) are living with a significant disability. This segment of the population has a great deal of buying power! Organizations also face the risk of law suits if their content is not accessible.
I created a short, fully responsive software tutorial to address this knowledge gap. It shows how to use Canva's "Design Accessibility" feature to address accessibility issues in a matter of seconds. Users can access the experience on their phone, tablet, or computer. The tutorial also has a "download" button, which produces a job aid in PDF form.
